Background
The letter was written just after the Second Alfayan-Herringnome War. A third party sympathetic to the Herringnome cause had invaded Alfaya, specifically targeting the fief of a woman said to have been instrumental in winning the war for Alfaya.
Public Reaction
The letter is a solemn reminder of a violent attack on the Basinfall fiefdom, and depending on Francis's ultimate fate, some of his last words.
Legacy
It serves as proof of Francis's selflessness and bravery, even when in the direst of circumstances.
