Francis Conradin's Plea

Purpose

To inform Ross Smith that the fief in which she resides is under attack, and that her lord is in danger.

Document Structure

Caveats

If the situation should arise whether it comes down between me or my daughter, please ensure her safety above all else; I beg you.

Publication Status

Originally private, the letter was eventually published by Francis Conradin's daughter Nia Conradin as a primary source for educational purposes.

Historical Details

Background

The letter was written just after the Second Alfayan-Herringnome War. A third party sympathetic to the Herringnome cause had invaded Alfaya, specifically targeting the fief of a woman said to have been instrumental in winning the war for Alfaya.

Public Reaction

The letter is a solemn reminder of a violent attack on the Basinfall fiefdom, and depending on Francis's ultimate fate, some of his last words.

Legacy

It serves as proof of Francis's selflessness and bravery, even when in the direst of circumstances.
