Sephirah

In the year 494 of the Era of the Holy Gospel, the blight of barbarism has long since been purged from the face of the planet. The proud legions of the Remian Union have brought the light of civilization to even the darkest corners of the world, and his holiness, the Pontifex Maximus has long guided mankind towards the path of the divine Nephilim above. All manners of miracles are made possible thanks to powers of their gods, for the technology of heaven, long forgotten by man, has once more been harnessed.   But all is not well upon the earth. The Pontifex grows old and feeble, while his stewards and custodians, the Praetors, become decadent and hungry for power. In the far reaches of the east wicked men amass under the banner of their Crownless King, and mutant races begin to stir in defiant rebellion. In the once mighty Shinar a new king has risen up from amongst his kin, and rumors are told of him dabbling with powers most heretical, machine armies with the minds of men, mockeries of the image of the children of god. As this Machine King makes illegal wars of conquest, the Union dispatches its vast legions to meet them in battle, in what many fear will be the greatest war of this age.   These are the days of dire omens and dark prophesy, long foretold by holy men and mutant mystics. The days of their fathers are coming to an end, and a new age will soon be upon the planet Sephirah. For hidden powers greater than anyone could imagine look down at the world as they put their plans, millions of years in the making, at long last into motion. The fate of all life in the universe now hangs in delicate balance.
