Háe'lon - Capital City of Maki
The city of Háe'lon, capital of The magical kingdom of @Maki. The capital is all but hidden behind a range of freezing mountains with only a single pass to enter into Inner Maki where Háe'lon is located.
A great Gathering of floating islands overbuilt with a century of wizards finding residency on, around and under the islands.
The islands were Magically lifted out of the earth by the city founder and Grand Magus @Solarin Elenath Daybreak using lost magical secrets. This marked the founding of the Floating capital city, the first of multiple floaters through out the kingdom, The capital city was the final piece missing to have the kingdom of Maki recognized as a proper political power there by also marking the establishment of the kingdom as a whole.
Today the Capital is split into Four layers:
The High Court of Amdir'annan - The Political Center
The Islands - The Main City
Ground Level - The Outer City
The Crater - The City Underground The High Court of Amdir'annan - At the very center of the capitol as well as the highest point. A smaller floating island where portals, palaces, crystal balls, and political buildings are plentiful. Important Places include The High Court it self, a build where any magical creature residing in Maki may come to discuss and influence matters of importance, controlled and educated by the mage grandees. The X&X's ZX (Xabiar & Xenias Zillion Xeno) news, aka X&X or ZX news, building is also located here and all news is transmitted from this location. This is also a cauldron for intellectual break throughs and scientific squabble. The Islands - made up of multiple floating islands. The inner city is located on one Massive island in the shape of a ring slowly spinning around the High Court. This Island is home to many libraries, upcoming wizards and witches, the apex of magi-craft, research, international trade and just about anything the imagination can craft.
Surrounding it swim many smaller islands of differing sizes, acting as suburbs supporting the denizens residing in all kinds of unique, magical and weirs housings, Tiny Shops and many small unique city environments. All the islands are connected with massive chains and bridges that shift and slide to keep the islands connected. The Ground Level - Over time the population outgrew the islands and so the city continued on ground all around and below the islands. This layer houses ordinary and magical people alike forming the working class, peasants, adventurers, travellers. This layer is mostly farmland and agriculture. The Crater - Where the islands rose out of the ground, now is but a crater in their wake. The Crater was first used for and continues to harbor underground laboratories. Mining has big early on going as far as establishing tales of access points to the underdark. Now it has developed into layer upon layers of underground cities inhabited mostly by the lower-class. Many dark studies take place here, work with chemicals, research on the psyke, tests of the divine powers, and studies of the darker sides of magic. Here you will also find less humanoid and mutated beings roaming.
