Summer Camp Pledge 2022

After doing summer camp last year, I'm really excited to participate again this time. With the previous year's prompts, my world was still relatively knew so there was a lot of expansion I could do in many directions. Since then, I've found myself unintentionally focusing on one major nation, Eoion, more than the other, Yzel.   As such, my creative goal for this year's summer camp is to focus on Yzel (landscape, cities, monarchs, history, culture, anything). That isn't to say every single prompt will revolve around that country, but I would like to try for at least a 70/30 split, 60/40 at the very least.   My motivation is to expand Yzel. While most of my characters are from this nation, it is the less developed of the two. My guess for why I ended up doing this is because the characters from Eoion are ones I have thought about longer and developed far more as individuals so it has been easier to work with them and their nation.   Like with last year, my goal is to complete all thirty-one prompts. However, with other hobbies taking more time due to an upcoming competition, I will try to go for at least sixteen for the silver ranking.   Themes
  • Copper (expanse)- I don't have many of the physical landmarks of my world fleshed out so I would like to add more of those, particularly rivers and forests
  • Silver (leadership)- industrial, humanitarian, and religious leadership positions have yet to be explored
  • Gold (discovery)- I would like to add more discoveries in the field of magic and land
  • Diamond (monstrous)- while I have divine beings, their myths are sparse. Adding more of those would be helpful, along with more monstrous human characters, both past and present
Mini-meta and inspiration Planning My date with myself will usually be 2pm when I have my lunch break during the work week. This is my most consistent me time during the day when I draw or think about world building things. I tend to jot ideas down and then flesh them out later. This would be a good time for making small notes about each daily prompt and then writing them properly after work.
