Buprah'rahm Kaaman
The Buprah'rahm Kaaman (Graceful House in Yzelian) is the home of the king of Yzel. Before the rise of Luan Sranten and the start of the Sranten dynasty, the royal family of Yzel, the Zhouhang, lived in several extravagant palaces scattered around the kingdom. Their main home was a sprawling house that took up several city blocks and was filled with luxury.
When Luan Sranten took over, one of his major overhauls was to significantly decrease the opulence of the monarchy. He felt that the previous dynasty had become too obsessed with finery and thus had left the government open to destabilization. As such, he decided to downsize the royal residence. Instead of a large complex, he moved his family to a three story townhome in the upper class area of Leowit.
The home is similar to those owned by other noble families in the area, with a light blue façade, and white shutters. Black fencing with gold tops circle the small yard and each window on the upper floors to give a slight balcony for every room. Inside, guests are greeted by a sitting area to the left and a dining hall down a hallway on the right. Farther in, the first floor has a larger sitting room for parties and a space for musicians to play.
On the second floor are offices for the king and queen, along with spaces to meet more intimately and conduct business. This is the farthest guests are generally allowed into the house.
Lastly, the top floor is where the royal family has their private bedrooms and one small dining area for when they wish to have meals privately.
The house has become a symbol of understated power, of a ruler who does not need grandiose displays. This is in high contrast to the Gandenye of Eoion, which is a sprawling compound that contains not only the ruler's residence, but also government buildings and many other areas. The differences in expectations of a ruler's residence are a cultural sticking point between the two nations.
