Ingholm (Free Hold)
One of the newer settlements of the Free Holds, Ingholm was very much born of necessity. The convergence of access to the western seas, a particularly rich copper vein, and abundant timber made the site an obvious location for a town to emerge. Ingholm represents both the Westernmost, and Southernmost, extent of the Free Holds influence.
While an excellent boon to the other Free Holds, the towns opening of oceanic trade to the goods of the allied towns complicated matters for them. It necessitated the construction of a major roadway beyond those that existed at the formation of the alliance, which meant for the first time a tax had to be levied upon the residents of them all collectively. A fact which rankled the independence minded residents.
The infighting that followed led to the eventual emergence of the more cohesive alliance Selania knows today. Ingholm however, remains the rough frontier town it started out as. However, the new ports prime location has drawn the attention of expansionist eyes in the North. It remains to be seen in if the loose structure of the Free Holds will be enough to retain a settlement of such potential.

Defences
Township Militia, both permanent and conscripted, can be called by the Council of Eminents to defend Ingholm. Furthermore, Inghoms town proper is built into the base of the mountains it abuts, which would make an assault on this portion of town a literal uphill battle.
Industry & Trade
Ingholm is home to four major trades, Shipping via the port, Mining the Copper or Iron Veins surrounding the town, Timbre export, and Ship Construction. The majority of the towns populace is engaged in one of these trades, while the rest operate the other occupations that support them.
Infrastructure
Ingholm has a surprisingly large amount of infrastructure for a frontier township. This is owed to its prime location as a trade hub with both oceanic and inland access. Its rich mines produce both the copper and iron that supply forges across Vertium and The Oliad Imperium.
