Mentralin

The continent of Mentralin spans from the eastern fring of the Frostwind Ocean to the Golden Sea that separates it from it's neighbour Al'Mahun.
In former times, before the Veil, it was roamed by nomadic tribes in the west and the vast empire of the Myou'Jin who directed the fates of the continent with great wisdom and ancient magic from the southern and eastern parts. Since these times the content was reknown for the Black Citadel as the centre for the worlds arcane wisdom.
In more recent times the Mentralian Kings ruled over the largest part of the continent until the raise of the second Temerian Empire absored many previously autonomous kingdoms into its provinces. The northwest is still mostly free, separated into either the Free Cities Federation or as part of the largely barbaric reaches of the north. The last remains of the once glorious Myou'Jin can be found within the Kyourin Shogunate, with it's inhabitants surviving in their poisenous environment only by striking ancient pacts with degenerated Daemon Lords, and the people of Lao-Shan, who favour wisdom, and peace over hatred and war.
Apart from housing the most reknown academy for sorcerers, the Black Citadel, Mentralin also is the centre of two of the larges groups of faith prevailing in Seiki. The city-state of Carintia, on the western shores, is the centre of the Carintian Church, where the High Father preaches of the sacrifice of the gods gone, while the Great Pagoda in Lao-Shan is the centre of the balanced believes of the Shando.
