The lifebearers cults goals are to expand undeath all throughout the valley so that more undead sinkholes should propogate across the world and grow in power until orcus can directly attack the material plane and have the cult's husk-bodies serve as his first victims.

History

hundreds of years ago a necromancer rose to power, whose name is long forgotten. She was seen as a threat and fled to this valley, where she began corrupting this land by way of drawing up a great sinkhole to a place of uneding death. Soon afterward the fey inhabitants of the valley had arranged the necromancer's fall. They took out their own hearts to sacrifice to the valley. The dryads and other fey were now dessicated beyond recognition so that all life withered and in their stead grew shadows long and black that molded from the fey remains. The dryads sacrifice was not without its dark fruits though, as the necromancer was drug into the sinkhole by these shadows. In the following years more and more powerful undead crawl from that hole.

Execution

The initiation ritual for the life bearers cult consists of a wicked climbing on a rope down into the hole, finding an undead being and bringing to the surface to force it to submit under the sun. If the remainder of the cult deems this creature of strong spirit the wicked will proceed to cut out its own heart and place it within the chest of the undead. Following this the cult leaders cast many a spell transforming the wicked into a husk of itself that submits to the will of the undead to which the wicked's consciousness has transferred. By this way the cult can gain two operatives by inducting a single member.

Components and tools

This ritual involves a heavily prepared ritual knife with which the heart transfer is executed. the dagger is made from ages old wood from a gulthias tree soaked in crude oil then petrified magically to form a tool both natural and suffused with undead corruption.

Participants

The cult leader is the one who has brought the most undead under their control generally by heart transfer with a vampire or other infectious form of undeath. This individual is in charge of approving initiates' offerings of new vectors for the cult.
