Ilport

A sprawling trading port, named after the godess of Ilmater. Its ruling noble is Igem Eaglerider, who is also the head of the temple of Ilmater. Many traders and sailors make their home here, and it is a great place to find adventure.   Bordering Ilport are several farmsteads, as well as hills inhabited by orcs. It borders the Green Valley Woods to the north.

Government

Ilport is ruled by a noble and a small counsel of advisers. The ruling noble is also the head of the Temple of Ilmater of the town. Rulers rule until death or abdication, after which a new ruler is elected amongst the nobles of Ilport.

Guilds and Factions

  • Clergy of Ilmater: Ilmater is the most influentual deity of Ilport, and the temple of Ilmater is the largest building of the town. The head of the clergy of Ilmater is also the ruling noble of Ilport.
  • Clergy of Umberlee: as many of Ilport's inhabitants are sailors, Umberlee, the see goddess, is strongly worshiped in Ihe town. She has a large temple at the eastern edge of the town.
  • Gemcutter's Guild: one of the most important trade goods of the town are refined gems, brought to the harbor of Ilport by many traveling tradesmen and adventurous sailors, and exported to Waterdeep after refinement. The gemcutter's guild is well established here and has a lot of sway in the harbor of Ilport.
