Wushu Organization in Sea Hears | World Anvil

Wushu

Wushu is a compulsory class for first and second years, which often divides students. Some relish the opportunity to learn martial arts alongside their peers, while others hate learning routines that encourage discipline and do little to nurture creativity.   Heskt Fort will teach first years. They have a no-nonsense policy in class.   In the first year, students will gain basic wushu skills and improve their fitness. Proficient students may reduce their stress through wushu. In later years, students with good grades in Wushu may take on the Wuxia class and/or the Sword-work and Smelting class.   There are two clubs that can help improve a student's wushu grade, the Wushu club and the Fire Dancing club.

Culture

In Gaia, there are several forms of wushu. The academy takes an open mixed-martial arts approach, teaching various forms and styles together in one class. Many teachers have learned several style of wushu and other martial arts around the world, with some taking on the role as teacher so they may train openly with other magi masters, who can blend their magic alongside their physical fighting abilities.

Public Agenda

Wushu was scheduled to give students time to exercise and focus on things other than their magic abilities. It is hoped students will be able to reflect on their physical abilities and appreciate their own unique shape, while taking on a healthy routine of challenging themselves and gaining fitness.
