The Deep Hollow
The Deep Hollow is the midpoint of a series of cracks, faults and fractures embedded in the earth on the Sanguin continent, which are often used by Sanguin tribes as guides to find neighbouring settlements and scavenging points. The midpoint however, is to be explored only by the most foolhardy of souls.
Geography
The Deep Hollow initially promises a subtle landmark when viewed from the distance to the untrained, a simple point where several strokes of land don't quite meet, with justified rock ridges striking each other in jagged patterns. As one approaches closer, bizarre, spidery creatures can be seen to crawl out from a pit-less black centre. Occasionally there is a hot grey smog lurking above the gap, which is seen by many as when it is the most dangerous to approach. Others suggest it is more dangerous to approach when there is nothing at all but the deep waiting below.
Ecosystem
Several creatures call the Deep Hollow their home. Most have several limbs and a nimble or malleable body to help them climb in and out. Other beasts, such as the jatuck and viners will brave the climb down to feed on the ruins below, before resurfacing and carrying what they could not eat in their jaws or beaks. Plants and spores are scarce, but those that lurk are either short and tough, or disguise themselves as a dead plant. The latter prefer to entangle their prey.
To get past the fauna and flora, one of the Sanguin tribes will emit a device, while another may use a local chemical to sink the ecosystem into a temporary daze. These techniques are not shared by the tribes as a rule, which encourages commercial trade and commissions between peoples
