The chieftain of the Taruan Merfolk otherwise known as the Jiāorén. Bohai Hàn is deeply respected by his clan and other Merfolk kind for his leadership during the Second Armada which led to the end of the war and the survival of his species. Bohai has carefully raised his only child, Meili , as his successor.

The Promise
Bohai's beloved wife, ShanLiang Li , begged him to promise to allow their daughter to attend Taru International Academy , explaining that Meili needed to develop her magic from her Human roots for her own safety. Bohai agreed. After the sudden passing of ShanLiang from a car crash, Meili became reluctant to travel on land. Keeping his late wife's promise, Bohai persuaded his daughter to attend the first year and develop her skills.Not Forgotten
Unknown to Meili, Bohai is not satisfied with the police inquiry over his wife's death. He sent various Jiāorén agents to further investigate the matter. If Meili could remember the incident clearly, she might help rest Bohai's concerns, but he will not push her to revisit her trauma.Relationships
