Shadow

Shadow is a para classical element that represents darkness and is composed of dark matter that absorbs energy and disperses it across the atmosphere. Shadow can be fused from Fire and Chaos as it embodies the energy aspect of Fire which is then inverted by Chaos into a force that goes against energy creation cancelling it out.

Manifestation

Essence

Shadow is commonly known for its properties of darkness as less well known for its insulating properties as it is a force the acts to stop energy in its tracks like a barrier. Shadow mages can use this element to create darkness by blocking off the natural light of the area, advanced users can go further and even hide non-visible light such as infrared radiation as well. For offense, Shadow magic can be employed to rapidly drain the stamina of enemies tiring them and in more severe cases killing them by causing their body to shut down.  

Enchanting

Armor can be enchanted with Shadow magic for stealth purposes allowing the user to conceal themselves where powerful enchantments can hide from the likes of advanced Light mages. Shadow armor is also an incredible insulator granting heavy protection against both high and cold temperatures. Weapons enchanted with Shadow magic make use of the stamina draining properties this element provides and can also interfere with other enchantments depending on the element.

Fire

Competing, where Fire is energy and Shadow absorbs and disperses energy, both will consume each other.  

Water

Harmonising, Water generates darkness and can carry Shadow and Shadow helps cool and preserve water.  

Earth

Harmonising, where Earth carries Shadow and Shadow preserves and strengthens Earth.  

Air

Opposing, where Air overwhelms Shadow and Shadow stagnates Air.  

Order

Competing, where Order neutralises Shadow and Shadow resists Order.  

Chaos

Opposing, where Chaos distorts Shadow and Shadow resists Chaos.  

Acid

Opposing, Acid breaks down Shadow and Shadow insulates and neutralises Acid.  

Lava

Opposing, Lava repels Shadow and Shadow blocks Lava.  

Lightning

Competing, Lightning destroys Shadow and Shadow absorbs Lightning.  

Light

Competing, Light destroys Shadow and Shadow absorbs Light.  

Arbour

Harmonising, Arbour carries Shadow and Shadow strengthens Arbour.  

Frost

Opposing, Frost repels Shadow and Shadow blocks Frost.  

Fae

Harmonising, Shadow strengthens Fae and Fae carries Shadow.  

Poison

Competing, Poison spreads through Shadow breaking it apart and Shadow insulates and neutralises Poison.  

Phase

Harmonising, Shadow carries Phase and Phase strengthens Shadow.  

Gravity

Harmonising, Gravity carries Shadow and Shadow strengthens Gravity.  

Quake

Competing, Shadow suppresses Quake and Quake destroys Shadow.  

Aether

Opposing, both elements repel each other.  

Nether

Harmonising, Shadow carries Nether and Nether strengthens Shadow.  

Void

Competing, Shadow overwhelms Void and Void absorbs Shadow.

Localization

Shadow is a commonly known element and feared by many cultures where some have even outlawed it. Shadow is known as Dark or Darkness by some cultures as well as in rare cases Moon or Lunar element.  

Vaultar, Reteric

In Reteric, Shadow is one of the outlawed elements partially due to its relation to the Chaos element and how the country is ruled by a government and culture forced to worship Order as a divide superior element. The people believe that darkness is just a place without Light and don't (or wont) understand how Shadow is actually a nullifying force.
