Ramz Carver

Item: Describe an extraordinary writing tool (or type of writing tool) in one culture

This is a tool used to inscribe [ramz] on the surface of buildings, furniture, jewellery clothes, or anything that may allow for a groove.
There are a few types of Ramz Carver around; most commonly, they have a shape very similar to a brush with a long wooden handle but ends in a metal rounded point. Some other common types have a crystal or glass-like point that are meant for more delicate material being carved, like when inscribing clothes.
Most importantly, Ramz Carvers can be divided into two categories: the ancient carver and the moon carver.
These so-called Ancient Carvers are mostly obsolete and very hard to handle because they draw too much power from the user, sometimes leading the user to death depending on how much power is necessary to activate the inscribed [ramz].
The Moon Carver, and the most common type, is also a rather recent development. On the handle of the Moon Carver, power storing [ramz] have been inscribed allowing the carver to have its own source of power, usually gathered from moonlight. Moon Carvers still draw power from the user, but on a much smaller scale than that of a Carver that doesn't have its own power source.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

To use the carver one must know which specific [ramz] to draw and where beforehand, paying special attention not to get any part of the [ramz] wrong as it can't be undone or corrected. Then, while imbuing their power into the carver as they press it against the surface to be inscribed, one draws the wanted [ramz] or sequence.

Significance

With the spread of the Moon Carver, technology based on [ramz] became more and more advanced both in cities of the [Ram] and other farther lands.

Rarity

Nowadays the Ancient Carver is a very rare find and is banished from use in many places. The Moon Carver was once an exclusive export of [Rukbat] before the knowledge spread to other cities of the Ram. Now, it's not difficult to find a Moon Carver even outside the original region, however not common due to the proficiency needed to wield it.
