Dream Turn

Written for WA Summer Camp 2021 - Prompt 3

Technology: Describe a new medical cure, treatment or breakthrough in your setting.

Also known as Dream Invoking, this is a method to turn a disease into something else "more tangible".
The disease treated this way can manifest in a physical form, as some type of monster they then call a [Living Terror, or bury itself deeper into the mind of the patient and become a Torment. For some, the manifestation of the Torment is a sign of failure in the treatment.
Generally speaking, a [Living Terror] can be fought by anyone. However, as is the case for any other creature, not everyone has the needed power, skill set or resources necessary to overcome it. Fighting off the Torment is a bit more complex as it needs to be done inside the patients mind, preferentially by a skilled [Dream Dueller] through [Dream Diving].
The treatment occurs at a location previously prepared to contain and handle the ambient power generated during its execution, namely a Dreamhouses.

Access & Availability

Officially unavailable, but still found in the hidden market on very rare occasions.
It was banished due to a case where, allegedly, a Rukbat ruler went through the treatment and ended up become insane after the disease turned into a [Torment].

Complexity

Aside from a properly inscribed [Dream Pod], [Ramz] and [Mithal] must be inscribed on the patient's body with a cold silver pointed Ramz Carver, with extra care not to cut the skin but rather make the pattern by swelling them on it. After that, all lights (including ramz based ones) are extinguished, and the executor begins the chant of ancient words until the treatment is completed. Duration of the treatment can be estimated beforehand since it depends on the severity of the disease, however, it is not a finite say on the precise amount. It is advised that more than one person acts as executor of the treatment at the same time, both to make it less taxing and to diminish the chances of failure.
