Elemental-Material Connections

The Elemental Plane  is believed to be in the center of Scarterra deep underground yet somehow of infinite size. It is largely believed that the Elemental Plane sustains all life on Scarterra since all life is made up of some quantity of the four classic elements of fire, water, air, and earth.
While mortals cannot visit the Elemental Plane with magic, it is relatively easy to use magic to bring energy or creature from the Elemental Plane into the Material Plane. Most Invocation and Conjuration magic taps into the Elemental Plane at some level.
The essence of the Elemental Plane bleeds into the material plane in many places.  Most magic fonts are saturated with the energy of one or more of the classic elements.  Magic storms somehow draw information from the Elemental Plane as do many spells that call upon elemental power.
It is believed that the mortal plane influences the Elemental Plane somehow but no one is sure in what way because no mortal Scarterran or Scaraquan has traveled to the Elemental Plane and lived to tell about it.
