Teleport Beacon

Teleport Beacons allow casters of any level to teleport to a specific location.  Resinrock, a rare material formed during the destabilization of the Plane of Arcana, forms the core of these beacons, and must be activated by a year-and-a-day ritual, so they tend to be reserved for import locations and landmarks.

Utility

Used as a teleportation hub for travelers; each one has a special resonance that can be registered by a person’s magic and tied to a specific phrase that the person can use while casting on themselves to transport themself to the location as a first level spell.  This replaced the costly Teleport spell that was only available to skilled magical users, and increased the interconnectivity of Scalespiral.

Manufacturing

A resinrock at least 1 meter in diameter must be placed at the location where the desired teleport portal will be, and then a ritual circle must be drawn which accurately describes the location, including its geographical position, position within the plane, and position within the planar system.  Then, 3-7 high level casters must cast the ritual, which takes a year-and-a-day to complete.  Only one caster has to be casting at any particular moment, but the casting cannot cease or change rhythm the whole year, so casters usually take shifts, overlapping with another caster by at least 30 min at the start and end of their shift
