Orange Legion

The Orange Legion is a secret paramilitary organization that has existed for centuries.  Considered by most to be a fringe conspiracy group, they have lurked in the shadows of governments for generations, biding their time and gathering knowledge.  Though their true goal is unknown by outsiders, there are whispers that they are obsessed with a prophecy that foretells the return of a powerful being eons older than the Legion itself.

Structure

The leader of the Orange Legion is their chief general, who commands a handful of Captians, who in turn command about a dozen Lieutenants.  Each Lieutenant is responsible for their local branch of the Orange Legion, and can organize it as they see fit, though most maintain a militaristic higherarchy.  Strict need-to-know information security is maintained, so most legionnaires know little about the organization beyond their own chapter.

Culture

The main custom of the Orange Legion is secrecy.  Though there have been occasional anecdotal reports through the centuries that the Orange Legion has done this or that thing, most people have only barely heard of its existence, and would likely swear up and down that they don’t know any members.  But only some of them would be right.

Assets

Because they only recruit fanatics, the Orange Legion has managed to build up quite a lot of resources of the centuries, from Legionnaires who donate all of the assets from their normal lives to the cause.  They are rumored to have at least five strongholds, though no one quite knows where these strongholds might be, and estimates of their gold reserves range from the millions to the hundred millions of gps.  As far as precise numbers, some scholars estimate that by now there could be upwards of 100,000 Legionnaires, though a handful of fringe theorists put the numbers as high as 10,000,000.  Unfortunately, no one but the leader of the Orange Legion is aware of the true extent of their power, wealth, and influence.
