House Turkey
House Turkey prides themselves on their ability to grow fresh and wholesome food from the soggy environment of Atchafalaya. One of the later arrivals to the Atchafalya political scene, they do not wield as much political power as some of the other Houses in the city, but have gained influence as the city grows and becomes more dependent on agriculture more than the more traditional foraging. Members of this house can often be found coaxing trees and vines to grow side by side, or tending plants in the fields to the south of the city. Like most of the other Houses in the city, House Turkey is comprised of a core family that includes the blood and bond relatives of the Elder, including their Heir, and a much looser collection of adopted members of the House, who may or may not be related to the core family. Adopted members are welcomed into the house by the Elder and the Heir in a ceremonial supper that centers around the family's Gumbo Hereditary Recipe
Structure
Leader (internal affairs): Elder Turkey; a patrilineal title descended from the first Turkey elder
Leader (external affairs): Heir Turkey; a son (either blood or bond) of the current Elder. Can be changed by the Elder at any time. Heirs that were replaced by their Elder have no particular title
Core Coop (main leadership): Venerable Turkeys; all of the people that are part of the blood-and-bond family of the current Elder. When an Elder passes and a new Elder takes the title, some people who were considered Venerable Turkeys may become Honorary Turkeys due to a lack of closeness with the new Elder. Venerable Turkeys manage the long-term project planning and coordination for the family.
Auxiliary Coops: Honorary Turkeys; all other members of the House. These form the day-to-day farmers and agriculturists, helping to grow the resources that Atchafalaya needs and manage terraforming for the city. Honorary Turkeys who build close ties with the Elder or Heir may end up joining the Core Coop.

Culture
House Turkey prides themselves on their flexibility. They manage changes in the local ecosystems, and shape the bayou to meet their needs, carving away and adding to the land to adapt it. They also pride themselves on their preparedness, and their ability to always store excess in preparation for disasters.
Public Agenda
To modify the southern basin in the city to ensure that it can grow all the resources needed for Atchafalaya's growing population
