Garath Odelia

The eldest son of Laurana Odelia, Garath has spent most of the last 6 years taking care of his younger siblings after the death of his adopted mother.  While she was still alive, Garath trained in magic under his mother, but although she was a killed sorceress, Garath's skills lay more in the domain of creation rather than enchantment.  When she died, Garath set his arcane training aside ni favor of raising his younger siblings, but did occasional practice his talents in order to make trinkets and baubles to keep the younger ones entertained. He has also... upgraded... many of the things around the house; the cauldron is self stirring, and hangs over a fire that feeds itself with logs from the bin, without any manual intervention needed.  The old wash bin has been repurposed into a spinning tub that removes the need for beating the clothes against a washboard, and bright crystals hang from the ceilings, glowing with runic illumination.
Despite his devotion to his adopted family, Garath has a secret that he has never told anyone; he remembers the events that transpired when he was still an egg - he remembers what happened to his birth family.

Personal history

Garath was hatched by Laurana from an abandoned eggg that she found on one of her quests. He is the oldest son of her adopted children, and was set to follow in her footsteps before her death, when he took over as head of household and helped raise his younger siblings.  He has spent the past six years devoted to their well-being, putting his own goals to the side. And though he thinks that his mother would likely want him to continue in his journey to become a sorcerer, he tends to prefer studying artificer skills.
