Elves
"The Elven fall from grace left a lasting impact on the world. It reminded us we are all susceptible to destruction, and taught us that nothing will get in the way of the humans' goals."
-The Hajaari Encyclopedia
Elves were once seen as the leaders of the world. They dominated much of the main continent, but didn't do so with exploitation in mind. They sought to unite the races against a common threat: the daemons. After taking the first steps towards this goal with 4 of the 5 other races, they attempted to do so with the Humans. Talks did not go as well, and most of what the humans put towards the cause they wanted something of equal value—or greater—in return. More so than the Onaga. This push and pull went nowhere.
Eventually the Humans ran out of patience, required more land and resources for their growing population, and forced the Elves out of beyond the Stonemarch mountains. The goal of peace was quelled, just as a great many Elves had been by the Humans. The majority of them were pushed into their last stronghold of a city, Gedorain, and have remained there ever since. Not many leave, and even fewer of them actually communicate with the other races. They needed help, but no one was there for them.
