Sanev Galen, High Arcanist
Sanev is an Arcanist, which means he has rose through the ranks of intellectuals in the city of Golryon, and entered the Arcane Conservatory. He has been allowed to view quite a few Runes, and studies each one closely.
Knows the Runes of The Start, Community, Protection, Thought, and Source.
He is dignified and speaks in colorful language, and tries to be personable but he doesn't understand how people fail to see the wise option. He had around 60 years when magic came about, so at a prime time to change from Aristocrat to Ascetic Wielder. He poured most of his money into it, leaving his estate in Orion's Fields for knowledge.His best friend is a Gnomish profiteer who duplicates and sells charms, but his knowledge of many more Runes that he cant share puts stress on their friendship.
His motivation is the betterment of knowledge, like a scientist. He wants to further the Science of Magic (magitechnology), through the discovery of Runes and the creation of Mundane Applications. He wants to change the world through innovation, like the creation of an elemental powered sailboat or the like.
His fantastical goals are to further Golryon, the longest lasting city currently extant, to greater heights than the Elven Empire of Erinion. This might be impossible, but it is his dream.
After Fergio's abandonment and departure of his role as High Arcanist, Sanev Galen took up the position. Although he never rivaled Fergio's unrivaled perspective upon the Runic Script, Sanev was indeed the perfect leader for Golryon through the Doppleganger Crisis. Ensuring that the Arcane Conservatory (and therefore House Stormborn as well) maintained the full pay to the Wardens, they were positioned to combat the cthonic threat, and quickly rooted out all shapeshifters and imposters. After this, the city's community was fractured, and it was Sanev that rebuilt it, and with the grand expansion of magic throughout the city, he deemed it time that the Conservatory was opened to all who had the aptitude, and that a Void Ink tattoo be given to any citizen that was faithful to Gol, to better serve it with the abilities of a Magewright to add to their own. This didnt change the plutocratic magocracy in Golryon, but ensured that arcane magic belonged to the city of Golryon and served it's interests, even if the majority of the power lied still in the hands of the elite.
