Majputari

The Majputari Empire (माजपूतारी साम्राज्य Mājputāri Sāmrājya) is the largest state within the Kardan continent in terms of both total landmass and population. Primarily situated along the Deresh, the empire's capital city of Atvabasti is constructed along the river's mouth across from its sister Jharwada of Bhatasthan, though its borders reach slightly further south into the Nurian inlet at the town of Addarpur. Far to the north from these cities lie Yangarpura, a densely-populated trading port linking the mainland empire to their territory upon Niravi Island of the Zaquri channel, and Madshapur and Adabasti which lie to the very farthest northeastern reaches of the imperial borders and allow access to the southern waters of the Luranic.

Military

The armies of Majputari grew and diversified in tandem with the territories of the empire itself, as the key to the state's explosive expansion had primarily lied in the ability of its military to rapidly adapt to the various tactics and terrains encountered as they spread further north along the Deresh. Rather than simply attempting to overwhelm opposing forces with superior military might, the expansionist empire became both famed and feared for its odd adaptation of a somewhat horizontal chain of command. Commanders would often be carted back and forth across the war fronts towards environments which they had proven themselves. Though this was often to the chagrin of rank-and-file soldiers who could routinely have their superiors swapped out on a monthly or even weekly basis depending on how quickly an area could come under proper imperial control, it allowed the conquerors themselves to assure that the rulers of the lands they conquered could never retain a proper understanding of the tactical tendencies of any imperial field commander.
As its borders grew, Majputari became increasingly effective at not only incorporating possible soldiers from newly-conquered lands into their ranks, but in integrating any particularly effective battlefield techniques or technologies which it had seen difficulty in overcoming. The most well-known example of such was the adaption of man-mounted war-elephants encountered in the final years of their northward expansion across the territory of the Diyarnadi at the Deresh's headwaters. The highlands city of Gariyunta now trains and supplies elephants to regiments across imperial territory, though they have historically proven more effective as tools of intimidation than as an actual force on the battlefield.
Similar instances include the specialized martial skills and weaponry encountered early in their expansions along the eastern border of modern-day Iyarver, such as the katar dagger or incense-filled theekutchi staff, and firearms purchased more recently from licensed smithies in the Durranian territories to the south. Both have become staples of the serpent (नाग nāgá) guards which staff the royal palace in Atvashertam.
