Druden

The invaders, the Druden, are reptilian humanoids. They come from the Druic Islands, which are across the Sea of Loss to the north of Sangania.
Druic Islands
Home to the Druden, lizard-like humanoids.
Druden are typically a bit taller and thinner than the Sangs. They are covered in scales, which range in color from tan to dark brown or green. Their tongues are split and can be used to sense scent and temperature. Their feet are webbed and have claws, which work well in the water and on sand or dirt but can be awkward on rocky ground. Their hands have claws and are fairly agile.   Many adult Druden have mastered a form of shape-shifting magic, which allows them to morph into the ynsorb form at will. The ynsorb form is about three times the size of a normal Druden, with teeth, claws, and scales hardened as well as enlarged.   Oberdea's fire killed most of the invading force, but some, who had stronger scales, survived and that became a dominant trait in the following generations, so now the Druden have more fire-resistant characteristics. The fire-resistant Druden tend to have darker scales.   The Druden have a six-month gestation period and lay eggs that are gray and leathery. They have broods of 6-8 at a time. Druden mature at about 12 years.   The Druden are tribal, leaders winning their place by ritualized combat. In addition to the shape-shifting magic mastered by many adults, they have mages. In addition, many of the Druden have the ability to see the spirits of the dead. This is sometimes valuable and sometimes a problem. Note that this means, if they ever attack Sangania again, they will likely avoid the Oberdea Wasteland, as there will be ghosts of many of their own people. Normally, Druden send their dead to the ocean on outgoing tides so that their ghosts do not hang around their settlements.   The Druden has invaded Sangania because they needed resources not available in their home in the Druic Islands in the Sea of Loss. There had been a series of eruptians, tidal waves, and other bad weather that made resources, especially food, scarce.
