Emperor of the Sun Ztina

The youngest emperor to ascend to the throne in Tik'al, Ztina has brought different ideas than all those that his seniors ever dreamed of. He believes himself to be the Sun's chosen, and is fully committing himself and his people to spreading that word through blood. While the history of the city ruled from the ziggurat has always been bloody, the future promises to multiply that.

Religious Views

As with all sun emperors, Ztina is believed to be descended from one chosen by the Sun itself when it walked the Earth. He however is convinced that he is special even beyond that. This is exacerbated by the fact that he took the crown so early, and so he is sure that his destiny is to exert the will of the Sun. This will manifests in his desire to rule all the sands of Saraya from his ziggurat. And as with all former monarchs, sacrifices are essential to sustain his position.
Whereas previous rulers in Tik'al were content, perhaps wisely enough, to remain within their borders, Ztina believes this negligence to be the reason for the sorry state of the world and the empire. He is sure that his forefathers were all mistaken, and that the Sun needs the whole world to be beneath it, that is, beneath him.

Titles

The title 'Emperor of the Sun' is hereditary, and held by the ruler of Tik'al whose seat lies at the top of the Ziggurat around which the city is built.
On the other hand, 'Chosen Son' and 'Hand of God' are unique to Ztina. Though it is not clear who uttered them first, the young emperor has taken them to heart, and openly accepted them into his doctrine as wholly truthful. In fact, it is becoming rare to even know his name rather than just the titles.
