Rebellion in the Cold Slopes

The Conflict

Prelude

During the rule of the Serran Kingdom, the Cold Slopes were one of the worst places to live. Although it was the most important source for mining in the whole kingdom, the Serran Family ruled the region with an iron fist and most of the inhabitants had lives worse than slaves. Retrospective it was no wonder that the fall od the Serrans started here. During decades of oppression and exploitation, the miners started several rebellions, some smaller smóme bigger, but they all failed due to the lack of organization and equipment.

Deployment

The rebellion started with the near simultaneous uprisings in various unnamed villages all over the the Cold Slopes. While a plan this far spread was impossible to go unnoticed by spies beforehand, the Serrans where so sure of their supremacy that they dismissed all reports coming from the region. Due to this neglience, when they uprisings happened, guards and soldiers where by far outnumbered and even their superior equipment didn't help them. Additional to their superiority in numbers, the miners chosse the coldest month in the year to start, resulting in them being far more accustomated to the climate than the soldiers coming from the south.
Although the first phase went well for the rebels, there were still a few military encapments that could hold out on the onslaught. But when the news arrived to serran officials, the isolated rebel forces already merged into armies that used the equipment of the fallen to overwhelm even the last encampents in the mountains. The fall of the last serran fortification on 7th Janual in the year 6950 DE marks the successful end of the rebellion.

Outcome

The loss of serran military presence in the Cold Slopes and the establishment of a rebel organization controlling the Cold Slopes.

Aftermath

After the liberation of the Cold Slopes, riots started everywhere in the Serran Kingdom. The loss of a major mining operation also lead to a heavy blow to the industry. Surrounding nations also took advantage of the current state and started preparations for invasion. While the miners tried to negotiate with the serran monarchy, their messengers were executed in the name of treason, effectively starting the Second Serran Civil War that lead to the downfall of the serran monarchy.
