Ṁnoga

Introduction

Ṁnoga is currently the leader of one of the major bandit groups in the western Madini area. He has taken over the group called Inok Irabu, who adapted the name from a kind of snake that lives in the desert and that has a poisonous bite, not deadly, but painful. He rose to power in 4517 or 4518 of the Era of the Earth, replacing the former leader Ṁkutsa.

Range of operations

Ṁnoga mostly roams the southern parts of the Madini steppe nestling up against the western stretch of the Ipindi mountains. As the area is difficult to control, neither the Madini city-state of Bamnara nor the Confederation of Tarrabaenia as represented by the state of Tebrina lay claim to that otherwise barren and infertile stretch of land. The Inok Irabu are highly mobile and although there are some temporary encampments in the nearby foothills none of those is used permanently. Repeated attempts of Tarrabaenian or Madini forces to hunt the Inok Irabu down have been thwarted by their mobility.

Historical impact

Under the leadership of Ṁnoga the group has become even more elusive than ever. This has led to Tebrina and Bamnara forming a treaty regulating the safeguarding of at least more important and bigger trade expeditions from one side to the other. This includes a permission to send armed escorts with traders to safeguard the transported goods. Something that was before on both sides considered an incursion into one's own territory. This was mainly because in 4520 of the Era of the Earth he raided a slave transport from the Madini to Tarrabaenia letting roughly 250 slaves escape. These in part went back east to harass Madini shepherds and traders or joined forces with Ṁnoga. This was not only a major economical loss, but also brought the dangers of these bandit groups in general into public consciousness.
