Kikanuti's Jug

The Jug is a legendary earthenware jug said to have belonged to the deity Kikanuti the Goblinoid goddess of home, motherhood and brewing. It is said that The Jug was an endless source of alcohol, from which Kikanuti would pour potent drink into the barrels of all good drink-wives who gave her tributes of soft fruit, mushy grains and honey.   According to Goblin legend, the Jug was stolen from Kikanuti by Hruggek, the god of treachery, who was jealous of Kikanuti's delicious and strong brew. It is said that no sweet drink would pour from the Jug onto his lips, so he hid it in the deepest caves out of spite, and it has not been found since.   From that day forth, goblinkind was deprived of Kikanuti's intoxicating gift. Heartbroken to see her children so miserable, she presented them with a different gift: She taught them how to brew beer from mushy grains, make mead from the honey of bees and how to turn any soft fruits into strong wine. She did this knowing that these offerings would be deprived of her, but her love for goblinkind was great indeed.   The goblins have never been people of honest or hard work, and the thought of having to work for their brew vexed them and made them upset. But many good brew-wives took Kikanuti's teachings, and they have kept their kind drunk from those days long past.   The legend of the Jug lives on among goblinkind, for they hope that with its return, they would no longer have to work to get drunk.
Give me brew, give me booze! Numb the tongue, and make it loose! Out with mead, out with wine! Give us ale and make it fine!
— A chant said to summon forth the contents of the Jug
