Darkmeyer

A land of endless night perversed by demons. Lord Elric Encroft invited them via the sacrifice of his own son, Corvo , for power and prosperity of his land. Since then, the region was renamed from Pinefrost to Darkmeyer. The dark skies shade the sun vantablack, but the moon is allowed to penetrate it, most likely adjusted to allow evil beasts to draw power from it and run amok.
All of Darkmeyer's citizens believe Corvo died of a terrible sickness and that his death is what triggered the darkness to roll in. Most of the inner court knew the truth, and many were executed for just that. There are some close to the lord's court that silently hold the belief in that truth, but have to proof towards it. Geth , former prince protector, was an example of this.
Since then Elric Encroft has created two viable successors and assumedly has no regrets over the loss of his firstborn.
Those who know the truth believe that Corvo is truly dead. They left the first Encroft child a husk, and threw his lifeless body into the crypts.
What a surprise it will be when they find out Corvo Encroft is alive and well.
