Rasha-Ui
Rasha-Ui sits on the border of the Lesser Phorian Plains and the Chisisi Desert, in the western-central region of Talaina'Vao, Tolara; here, gently rolling shrub and grasslands meld with steep and rocky sloped plateaus, leading to an open steppe-like and elvationally staggered sort of landscape. The region's climate is one that is characterized by long periods of drought during the dry and cold seasons stretching from Moras to Dariven. This is offset, however, by heavy monsoon-like rains during the rainy season (Jenethi to Amir)- which provides Rasha-Ui with much needed water for the rest of the year. Common drought conditions lead to a sparse landscape with little diversity; short trees with wide canopies cover the area, which is further dotted by patches of shrubby grasses, succulents, and other drought tolerant plants. By contrast, however, the occasional oasis creates lush patches of paradise that are rich with colorful plant life, and flowers such as Orchids. Large herds of grazing animals are a common site here, and migrate between the Chisisi Desert and Rasha-Ui twice yearly; massive migrations of mixed species herds occur with animals moving into Rasha-Ui during the rainy reason in search of water, and back again into the Chisisi Desert during the cold season (which is more severe here due to its proximity to the plains).
