Harvest's End

Harvest's End is a newly-established feasting day held on Niea at the end of the local harvest season. It was established by the Survivors of Eden after they came to settle on the planet in 2121 SE. The tradition goes hand-in-hand with the festival of Harvest Giving. Both Harvest's End and Harvest Giving were established to celebrate the year and to prepare people's spirits for the hard winter to come.

Participation

All members of the local community and visitors are invited to partake in the feast held during Harvest's End. This includes those who were unable to help in the year's harvest for one reason or another. No matter the level of work one has contributed to the community, all are welcome at the tables of the feast.

Observance

Harvest's End is typically observed the week after the end of the harvest. The feast is almost always held on a Wednesday. The reasoning behind Wednesday is simply because it is the middle of the work week, and would provide a much-needed respite from work.

During the time between the end of the harvest and the feast day, most are busy with preparing their part of the feast. The feast is compiled as a sort of potluck, where each household is asked and expected to bring a dish if able.
