Personal history

Born a nobleman Rand Dulchant was a petulant nobleman who held no emotions for any save himself. When he was ambushed a band of ghouls he believed his life was forfeit were it not for a wondering Knight of the Saint Rose who saved him. Rand fell in love with the Knight attempted to reward her but every offer was rebuffed. Shocked that the woman was living the life of an ascetic who forswore even a name he followed her and began to learn in earnest of the Saint Rose.
Their actions became famous among the peasants but infamous among nobility. Eventually the King became nervous with the Knight of Saint Rose and planned to arrest her before she roused the populace into riots. The Knight was imprisoned and were it not for his birth Rand would have been to. Incensed Rand gathered the population in revolt and waged a fierce war with the nobility eventually leading to the monarchy and nobility deposed with many put to death or fled.
Upon the ashes of their revolt Rand built a theocratic state around the Saint Rose which grew with each year. He eventually married the Knight and they now lead the largest order of the Saint Rose.
With the first major offensive by the Bleak Empire both Rand and his wife went into battle to fight against the overwhelming odds.
