Half-orcs average slightly larger than humans but smaller than orcs. Most half-orcs have skin tones from gray to pale green, jutting jaws, prominent teeth, a sloping forehead, and coarse hair that covers much of their head and back. Their skin colors range from deep umber to light coppers and pale green with hair that ranges from sandy brown to night black that fades to grey with age.
Genetics and Reproduction
Half-orcs were born of both human and orc ancestry but since then their Orcish ancestry has bred true over a dozen generations. Now there are enough Half-orcs to breed among each other that they are considered a species unto themselves.
Growth Rate & Stages
Half-Orcs mature a little faster than humans, reaching Adulthood around age 13. They age noticeably faster and rarely live longer than 75 years.
Dietary Needs and Habits
A tribal half orcs diet mostly consists of meats hunted as well as fruits and vegetables that are gathered from the harvest. Lacking the desire to drink alcohol, most tribal orcs drink spring water or collected rain water. If the half orc lives in the city as an ordained citizen, the half orcs diet will consist of what humans eat or elves eat.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Half-orcs exhibit the ability to see well in low-light conditions but retain no other traits beyond human senses.
Civilization and Culture
The species began it's history born of both human and orc ancestry by a multitude of means. While the Green Horde had pillaged and plundered the communities of mankind there were some who willingly joined while most were not so willing. From these unions came the combined physical power of their orcish ancestors with the agility of their humans ancestors, half-orcs were considered formidable individuals. The Horde used these half-breeds as specialized warriors whom they considered worthy so long as they proved their prowess on the battlefield. Meanwhile in human communities it was considered that the children of these unions anathema though some were spared for various reasons and were able to prove themselves. Soon the all half-orcs became known as peerless warriors as but it was only those among the horde who managed to prove this. But by the time half-orcs had become recognized for their skill the war had ended and their numbers remained with the horde having been banished all that remained were few in number. Some were hunted and fled along side the few orcs who remained while others attempted to work with humanity with mostly little success. Instead green ghettos appeared in all major human settlements as the half-orcs became pariahs to most and the species was thought to be relegated to obscurity. But orcish blood breeds true and the half-orcs did not die out but spread developing their own communities and cultures until they could rival some of the other mortal races. Today the species as a whole is still looked down upon but with the age of adventure having begun many adventurers have come from green ghettos to become heroes. The greatest achievement has been the Republic of Man recognizing half-orcs as full citizens removing much of the stigma of the younger generations though their parents still distrust the species on the whole.
- Ora Ora, champion half-orc among the allied forces his efforts proved the half-orcs worthy of saving
- Muda the Worldbreaker, greatest warrior among the Green Horde died at the hands of Ora Ora
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
While half-orcs and humanity have had a troubled relation for most of their existence there is mutual admiration for either's achievements. As of late humanity has begun to act more accepting of half-orcs. Unfortunately dwarves and elves have much longer memories and there is little love lost between the two species even with half-elves the two may bond over their shared issues there are a great more difficulties between the two species. Among the other mortal species there is less of a history of animosity and war with cambrion and dragonbreed all sharing the same sins of their past.
