At first War was Survival, then War was Glory, now War is Hell.   Venom's Mark, Warrior's Shame, Nature's Scar, Science's Sin. Whichever name is used for the last War all aggressors agreed that it must end, & yet only a few decades later Dwarves demand their honor be payed its due while the Elves bay for those who defile the World be purged, and who holds back these base urges?   For centuries Altenrond & Mahiyatal have despised and slaughtered each other, no different did they treat the other during the conflict, creating so much devastation that the black dragon Ytrizion claimed the No Man's Land between the two as his new lair. Due to the loss of life and land caused by the War Humanity & Serpentfolk are now the most ardent agents of Peace among their respective allies. This strange circumstance leaves both nations ragged with summits, meetings, intelligence, counter-intelligence, fringe research and sabotage doing anything to keep their alliances too balanced for war to look feasible for one side looking stronger than the other will cause various groups, cults, and scorned individuals to bay for blood.   After witnessing mortals new abilities to not only destroy lives but also societies, The Gods have started to turn their attention from The Walls of Reality, towards The Streets of Men. Servants of The Raven Queen preach for 'Natural Order' while suppressing anything that offends them, Pan sends his priests to refresh the damaged wilds, & attack any who would stifle them. Gruumsh and Cayden Cailean faith's swell with faithful looking for a reason to fight or enjoy life.
