Dance for the Cruxi

Once a year, in the mid of Spring, all the Janas of Onfalu congregate in Monti d'Accoddi area to celebrate a ritual dance in honour of the Great Mother and her celestial representation, the The Southern Cross.   For the occasion, the University Campus and its surroundings are evacuated for three days, and the glass dome over the Temple is opened, to allow the entrance and rituals. The Mere'Janas is the officiant of the rituals and presents, in her true fairy form, to all her sisters and associated humans. For the first day she will listen to the requests of her subjects, dispensing advice and promises of direct intervention if necessary. The second day is the true day of the celebrations, and she will ascend the stairs of the Temple to reach the closest point to the sky. From there she will bless the jars of water collected on the top level of the Temple and give start to the dances. The fairies and all their associated are expected to offer dances and music in onour of the Mother for the whole night, after which the blessed water will be distributed among all the domus representatives as a special blessing for their community and a promise of help from the Mere'Janas.   During the third day of the celebrations humans are allowed to join the celebrations and during this day the Juighissas and the Mere'janas meet at the feet of the Temple and symbolically renew their pact by exchanging small gifts.
