Solar Hysteria

History

The first case that was known was discovered in a village just outside the Valley of Bones. A young merchant staggered into the small Klannrix clan village seeming in pain and in an uncontrollable fit of laughter. The villagers were in shock and awe that anyone came out of the valley alive. They believed that there was a vengeful spirit that kill any that disturbed the flowers that grew in the valley. The merchant died soon after reaching the village and the village healer took interest in the case and autopsied the body and learned that it was more than a curse of those who entered the valley.

The healer investigated it further and took the change of going to the valley to see what he could find. He was the first to suggest that there was no curse on the valley, rather that the lilies that grew there caused the death of those to travelled there unprepared. As he continued his research further of the lilies, he discovered the medicinal purposes of the plant, but also isolated the reason of the behavior the village saw in the merchant.

Cultural Reception

Those who present the symptoms of this condition and have been diagnosed with Solar Hysteria are often ostracized. Since the discovery of the medicinal purposed of the Sol Lily, it was also discovered that the pollen is highly addictive, more so to some races than others.

Cause

Solar Hysteria is a condition that is brought on by exposure to the pollen of the Sol Lily.

Symptoms

Mild: Fever, Sneezing, Light-headedness/dizziness, shortness of breath
Serious:Swelling of the Brain that causes hysteria, headache, body ache (Symptoms get worse in sunlight)

Treatment

It is imperative that the patient is removed from the presence of the pollen. There is no treatment for the removal of the pollen from the patients body but treating the symptoms will quicken the recovery process. Depending on how long the patient was exposed to the pollen and how long their brain was under duress of the affects will determine the long term affects that the patient may have that include mild to severe brain damage.
