Bestiary Februrary

Hello World! I ended up taking an unplanned hiatus for the month of January on any and all worldbuilding...but! couldn't miss out on this month's challenge! While I enjoy many aspects of worldbuilding, creature creation is what got me started all those years ago. I am going to use this challenge to do some sketches of each creature for each prompt. I may even add in some new creatures!

Glimmerwings

Wings

The Glimmerwing is a small song bird that is found throughout Rysidor, along prominent gosamyr rifts. These little birds are one of a few speices that migrate based on the source of gosamyr. Their colors and glimmers are based on the type of gosamyr that is in the area and in their food sources.

Ring-tailed Vodula

Stripes

Ring-tailed Vodula's are one of serveral subspecies. It is not uncommon to find the subspecies intermingling in the communities. They are found on the island continent, Espye, and the archipelagos, Admaris' Gems.

Syrec

Horn

The Syrec is a winged horse creature that have a either antlers or horns, depending on the subspecies. There are five known subspecies that dwell in different parts of Rysidor.

Fire Scarab

Shell

The Fire Scarab is a sacred beetle that is exclusivly found in the Da'ja desert. The shell of these beetles are known for its colorful and near fireproof properties. The Fire Scarabs are sacred to many of the Klannrix clans beliefs and locations to their hibernating grounds in the desert are highly guarded.

Tinct

Colorful

The Tinct is a unique species of small cat. Many view this species and its various breeds as domesticated, some breeds more common than others, however, as cats go, the tinct is mysterious. They are most known for their vibrant colors in fur coloring and eye color.

Vampur

Nocturnal

The Vampur species is often at the center of people's nightmares. These bizzare creatures can be as small as a house cat or as large as a lion. They feed on livestock and any unlucky soul that might stray out at night. They are found in various regions of Rysidor in groups as large as a few hundred to as small as one or two.

Void Hound

Mythical

Void Hound's are tied to folklore surrounding the diety of Void, Vanus, and are viewed as omens of impending war and death in cultures that follow the diety Avalo. People often confuse Moon Hounds for Void Hounds.

Elf Hare

The Elf Hare is a common rodent that is found in many regions. They are a prey source for many animals and are often hunted for their meat and pelts.
