Fairharbour
On the eastern border of Ammora, further than the furthest city in the kingdom, a series of dusty backwater towns dot the empty wastes at the edge of the Ashen Sea. Most are mining settlements or trading posts, small pools of life in a vast arid expanse.
Like many of the frontier towns, Fairharbour is a new settlement built on the ruins of something much older. Its structures of bleached white wood and blasted sandstone have grown up around rusted iron bones. The metal skeletons, like the ones supporting Aavad’un’s great spires, are said to have belonged to the creations of an ancient people whose hubris brought upon them a great fall and wracked the lands with the Scourge, a divine wrath which turned the oceans to sand and buried their civilization deep within the earth.
Fairharbour is thought to have once been a shipyard, and the crumbling ruins which encircle it to be the ribcages of beached shipwrecks. Its name is meant to honour the ghosts of its distant past; however, most locals know it as Midva’ar or, occasionally, Stoczni.
