Edicts of Lumen
The reign of the tyrannical sorcerer-kings was ended by the clerics and paladins of the Faith of the Sacred Flame during a long and bloody campaign. For centuries afterwards, mageborn were hunted down and slaughtered by the church. Those who managed to survive the purge created the Amethyst Academy and fought back. After generations of conflict, the Edicts of Lumen were signed to bring the wars to an end.

- Articles of Inheritance: Mages are not allowed to hold noble titles or own land
- Articles of Neutrality: The Amethyst Academy must remain neutral
- Articles of Guardianship: The Amethyst Academy has the authority to take and train any mageborn child
- Articles of Enterprise: The Amethyst Academy may operate as a guild to control the sale of magical goods and services
- Articles of Malediction: Raising the dead, summoning fiends, and using magic to influence or control the nobility and clergy are forbidden
- Articles of Umbrage: A system for resolving infractions, including when violent force may be used

To end the wars between the Amethyst Academy and the Faith of the Sacred Flame.
