Turning your back

What is considered a rude gesture in your world? Why is it offensive?   The young man turned and was about to walk away, but a hand grabbed him from behind and spun him back around. “Turning your back on me was the worst mistake of your miserable life,” Zaurak growled in a low voice that only Wurren could hear. Turning your back on someone is just about the worst thing you can do in Asteri besides call someone names. Even if you simply turn around then back to face them it's considered offensive. When you do this rude gesture, it means that you think that they (or their idea) is not even worth looking at or that they are done with an argument. Few people actually use this in their day to day life which makes it even more repulsive when used.      For example, if you turned away from a merchant who just gave an intolerable price for a single bag of grain, then he would probably send you away from his stall. On the other hand, if you did it to a robber, he is most likely to kill you (assuming he hasn't already for your gold).  Doing it to a friend can be a little tricky. You don't want to hurt them, but you also want to tell them that their idea might not be the best. If that's the case, you might turn slightly to one side for a few seconds before returning to your normal position. If they're observant, they'll get the hint.         So just be sure you use this gesture at the right time. As you saw up above, doing it to a Watchman captain is not the best idea because you might not come out alive, but most people won't kill you for doing it.  There is, of course, the option of not being rude at all which is the path that most Asterians take. As always, there is going to be the few that are rude at each and every possible time, but just try to ignore those people and a visit to the country of Asteri will be beautiful.
