Sammaal Jones

Sam is a half-demon, half-human teenage boy living in Rookswood. His mother is Tatiana Jones, and his father is a low-ranking demon. His soul, due to the circumstances surrounding his birth, belongs to Lilith, the Queen of Hell. His best friend is Gabe. His biggest wish, ever since he was a little kid, has been to be fully human.
He is 18 years old, with pasty skin and eyes that glow red or blue which he often hides behind contact lenses so as not to give himself away to strangers right off the bat. He is not very tall, and he slouches a lot, rendering him smaller than he really is.

In Promises of the Night, he is on a quest to find a way to become human. He gets in touch with a warlock who claims to have a way to separate his soul from Lilith's, and he is faced with the impossible decision of whether his life is worth more than another or not, regardless of the purity of the other soul.

Sam is a very kind-hearted boy. But his usual tenderness will be challenged in his quest for humanity.

His whole life, Sam wished to be normal. He did not face outright bullying from his classmates, given that most of them were SPNs like him, but he only really had Gabe as his friend. Half-demons are not common, and therefore most people did not know what to make of him. He was often seen as a possible danger, a possible menace, and many times, he was not allowed the change to prove himself as a good, kind boy.

Sam used to wish to become a veterinarian, but after a rather traumatic experience involving the one and only pet he ever adopted, he decided it would be best to work with kids instead. He loves animals, but they don't love him back. The only animals that seem to like him are rooks, the signature birds in his hometown, but he has always appeared more spooked by them than anything else. He doesn't like how they stare at him when he happen to walk past them. As a half-demon, he has certain abilities: he can see through most charms and veils and he is immune to several types of magic, especially if it comes from a weak source, and he could persuade others to his benefit if he so wished.

He is very good with children, and he would like to be a paediatrician when he grows older. He tends to be very sh and introverted, often choosing to either spend his time alone or with Gabe and the few other friends he has collected over the years, like Dilly and Thomas.
