The Teeni Region (WIP)
A small collection of mountains and valleys in the larger Teeni Mountain Range.
Geography
The Teeni (Tee - naɪ) Region is comprised mostly of a sizable section of the Teeni Mountain Range, near the southern coast of Bayta (Beɪ - tɑː). The mountains in this area are a bit smaller than the other mountains in the range, which is what has allowed so many people to settle there in comparison to other nearby mountain valleys.
The region is located next to the ocean, which leads into two different rivers, which then branch out to several creeks and lakes. These bodies of water are the second reason why people settled in these valleys. The largest lake is in the west-most valley, with several smaller lakes scattered about the other two valleys. The rivers reach directly into all of the valleys, except for the northern-most valley, which is close to a smaller lake and is almost entirely supplemented through creeks for water.
At the base of the mountains, before they reach the beach, there are rolling foothills that completely separate the mountains and valley settlements from the beach and coastal settlements.
Fauna & Flora
While the amount of flora and fauna begins to go down as you move higher up into the mountains (due to the harsh conditions), there are several plants and animals in the area.
Natural Resources
This region is full of natural resources, which is why it is able to sustain many settlements all on its own, without any imports to those settlements. On a separate note, the only thing protecting these resources from foreign invaders looking to profit is the seclusion of the area via the mountain range surrounding it.
The metals and stones in the mountains have provided a way for the locals to build their settlements. While there are not any naturally growing orchards or fields, the good soil has given more than enough land for locals to create farms. Along with this, the non-carnivorous trees in the area creates a unique resource for builders of towns, along with inventors who could use the wood as a resource for their creations.
