Zaira von Monocle
Baron Zaira von Monocle (a.k.a. Zair-bear)
Zaira von Monocle grew up as an ordinary farm girl. Her father wanted to keep her sheltered from all of the craziness he'd seen in the world, and from his life as an adventurer, and so she stayed home with her mother Liliana, going to school in Plainsroad Village, and learning to tend to crops and bring them to market with her neighbors, the Gentrys.
Her mother died when she was 12, leaving Zaira alone with a pet ferret brought to her by her father to help console her. Her father remained distant, and disappeared completely two years later, leaving Zaira an orphan.
Zaira was undeterred, and decided to work hard and keep her farm in good order herself (with the help of her neighbors). She was forced to be an adult at a young age.
When she was 16, Zaira learned her father had died and she'd inherited his airship, the Liliana (named for her mother). She was taken by Mr. du Gearsmith and Captain Talyen von Cravat to see her new ship, where she learned the Wyranth were now invading and it was up to her to take charge of Rislandia's greatest weapon and stop it. She also learned her father might be alive, held within a Wyranth prison. Plainsroad Village was razed to the ground by the Wyranth in the process.
Zaira had to quickly figure out how to operate in a much bigger world, and learn how to command an airship and its crew. Since then, she was given the title of Baron, and made an honorary Captain in the Grand Rislandian Air Force, taking the Liliana on missions just as her father did before her. She has apartments in Rislandia City, but considers her airship her home.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Athletic, healthy, calloused fingers from farm work, but also sturdier and stronger than she appears because of it. On her mission to the Zenwey continent, she was captured by a group called the Nightmen and shot in the shoulder. It healed, but still stings periodically.

Light skin, dirty blonde hair, athletic.

Squareish chin and thin nose with a round face.
Identifying Characteristics
Upon close look, she has a scar on her right ear, with a small missing piece along the top where she was grazed by a bullet in the Battle of Rislandia City.

Wears the traditional garb of her father's Baron von Monocle persona but with a female twist-- a white blouse, red cape, a top hat, long flowing brown skirts or pants depending on the situation.

Personal history
Born and raised in the farming village of Plainsroad Village, Zaira grew up in an autonomous life with her adventurer father always gone far away on missions. Her mother died when she was 12, and Zaira raised herself with the help of her neighbors, the Gentrys.
Living a farming lifestyle left very little time for Zaira to do much but work as she grew into her teen years. She grew crops and her neighbors, the Gentrys, helped her sell them to market. She worked in the fields almost every day, until Matthias du Gearsmith showed up at her front door, informing her she'd she inherited an airship, the Liliana. From that point forward, she followed in her father's footsteps in the life of an adventurer on the behalf of Rislandia.
Education
Zaira received schooling in Plainsroad's Village schoolhouse from Mrs. Everley. When her parents died, her school time became sparser, as she had to tend to the farms and ensure she had the means by which to survive.
Employment
Zaira is currently the captain of the airship, Liliana.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Rescued her adventuerer father. Had an expedition to Zenwey. Fought for the Rislandian Kingdom at the Battle for Rislandia City, after which she received the Rislandian Medal of Valor.
Failures & Embarrassments
Mental Trauma
Due to her upbringing of being abandoned by her father and living alone, she is hesitant to rely upon others, having been orphaned at a young age.
Zaira's also seen a little too much death for her young years, which has only served to harden her against it. As she's witnessed more in guerilla street fighting during the Battle of Rislandia, death is starting to paralyze her with fear when she sees it.
