Risen War (working title)

The world of Risen takes place in modern day Earth, though its timeline has been separated from our own starting in World War II. Germany never invades the Soviet Union to the east and focuses instead on holding the western front, leading to a stalemate with the Allied Powers. The Soviet Union instead invaded Japan, creating a powerful if tenuous relationship with the Chinese.   As the years go by, rising population, depleting resources, political turmoil, extreme weather events, and an increase of paranormal phenomena stoke fears about humanity's future. The drums of war start beating again.   While the little people try to find a way to avert the world's doom, the various nations seems resigned to just trying to be the top dog when it all ends.
