The First Tongue of the Ajdilgan

Shared in scraps of memory, the First Tongue of the Ajdilgan is slowly slipping away from the world. The blessed of dragons, the Ajdilgan, have used it for hundreds of years to communicate with the fallen technology of the progenitors, but between less and less tech falling from the sky and that which has fallen eventually failing the language is slowly falling out of favour with the younger generations. Compared to the common tongue, or as elders are found of saying the corrupted tongue, perhaps only one in ten ajdilgan speak the First Tongue. At best, only one in twenty recognize the symbols. It is a remnant of a world long forgotten to memory and when it goes, so to shall the power and wonder of the sky tech.
The language itself is a mix of sibilant whispers, songlike trills, and sudden harsh stops favouring 'k', 'v', 'b', and 't'. The newly hatched are often blessed with names of old. It is with much consternation that the eldest see their progeny abandon these ancient names in favour of names more pleasing to other denizens of the lands. To the elders, the language is their history and their people; a perfect encapsulation of self and a birthright not to be squandered. To the youth, it is a chore; a connection to a world that no longer exists with rules and structures that have no bearing on their lives; or worse, are actively harmful. The elders do not know what to do. They cannot force the language onto their children, but they are loath to share it with those who are of the blessed.
