Kourluma Tapestry

The Korluma tapestry is an ancient piece of woven fabric that intricately details the catastrophic, yet miraculous meteor strike which left behind the hallowed Gleamstone, a substance that has come to be highly coveted, even worshiped in Korluma. The tapestry tells the story of the stone from it's fall from the sky in ancient times, and the subsequent chaos that ensued, down to the beginnings of the modern era. Written record has it that the fabric was woven mostly by one woman going a by a name that cannot be verified by birth record - Ka Geromia. She lived during the Kaioun dynasty as a royal artistry attendant to the royal family. Her role was to document important moments of the family's life in mediums that would exist for centuries and tell their story. Ka Geromia commissioned ceremonial armors and weapons, dinnerware, and even utilized the royal guardsmen uniform as a historical piece. But the tapestry, history tells, was woven and embroidered entirely by Ka Geromia herself.   While it's location is known, the tapestry has gone largely unseen due to it's current owner, a crime boss operating in Chalens. The criminal, known only as Decadence, has become known to provide every sensual ... decadence one could desire to experience. For a price of course. So far, a price has yet to be set on viewing the tapestry. It is even under consideration that perhaps the Decadence doesn't even have it. Other conjectures are that it is this Decadence his-or-herself who is spreads such rumors, in an attempt to drive up curiosity about the piece, and of course the ticket price charged to view it. It is up in the air whether this shadowy figure is indeed real, let alone any treasured belongings that might be up for study upon payment. The entire debacle has both frustrated and enticed historians, art lovers, governmental officials and the local public for many a decade now, since the first word slipped out about the tapestry's supposed appearance within a forgotten trove of pilfered loot discovered by the local street gang to which Decadence belonged at the time, some 500 years ago.   As for what IS known about the tapestry, it is a narrative piece of fabric work, meant to be a ceremonial banner for the Royal Deep Cave of Chalen's Korlumagus. While pebble records show that the tapestry was completed on time, it was never delivered due to the sudden oncoming of the Stone Dynasty and the genocide that followed. Chalen's Chosen kept the tapestry with them in a box sealed with hexwax with the intention of using it as motivation for cultural uprising should the need ever arise for it.   It didn't.   The tapestry was put away after the great atrocity, as were many things referencing the Times Before, and it was forgotten. Forgotten until the day it was seen again, among the ill-gotten spoils of a particularly nasty group of thieves.
