Clearton-on-Hardwater

Clearton-on-Hardwater is a small hamlet near Brassape in northern Codnou. It sustains itself on ice fishing, local hunting, and its nearby auricite deposits which are traded through a trade route to Havenport.
West of the village Havelock insists on referring to as 'Brass bloody monkeys' lies a lake, almost eight miles in its longest dimension. We believe it to be deep, but when we attempted to plumb it a creature with a face like... well, Havelock, captured the bob and swallowed it. Our enthusiasm for exploring the lake's depths diminished after that.
Some of the regions we have discovered in our exploration of these northern isles may one day be suitable for habitation, but that godsforsaken valley will never be one of them.
— Montmorency Devereux, 84 Gn
Clearton is, however, best known for its architecture. The entire village is constructed out of ice and snow directly on the metre-thick ice of Hardwater Lake, and has become a minor tourist attraction for those tourists who feel an unfathomable need to visit the frozen wastes.

They are bagged and sent to Brassape for weighing and packaging, then transported under escort to Havenport.
