Brigadier Harold Gerd Axiom Deepdelver (a.k.a. Harry, The Hammer)
Harold Deepdelver is the current chair of the Overthing, a position he has held since his retirement from government in 335 Gz. Unusually outspoken in his views for such a pivotal role, he is nevertheless renowned for being fair and unbiased, a trait which has made him far too popular to remove from his position... not that premiers haven't tried.
Throughout his career, Deepdelver has been a keen philosopher, publishing his "Ponderances" with a remarkable frequency for someone so busy. A pragmatic idealist, he has firm ideas of how the world should work, but is not above kicking in a door or two - actual or metaphorical - to make it happen. A lifelong lawyer, soldier and civil servant, it is perhaps unsurprising that his philosophical foci have lain in ethics, justice and politics. He is a believer in politics as service to the nation and its people, and has made his views very clear on members of the Overthing using their positions for personal gain.
