A land of darkness. The peasantry lays low as the nobles rule supreme. haunted by a dark past of necromancy. Magic brings power, and power brings money. Welcome to Vetrum. After the Rift's Wake, the coastline of Vetrum was utterly destroyed, with the port city of Jainzar being mostly flooded and many a building collapsed after the massive waves crashed into the docks. Hundreds of thousands of lives were snuffed out are the first series of waves, but then came the deaths from those stuck in the cities with no easy escape and no food, these would soon die as well adding to the mounting numbers of dead. Such was the destruction of the event that it was known as the Rift's Wake for it was the result of the Rift and it's bringing the Darstians to the Plane. People would find bodies along the shorelines of the coast over the course of the next few months, a terrible reminder of the horrors experienced on the day.
The Capital of Vetrum is known as Vistial. It is known for the wealth that it brings to live here however, only those with the talent for magic may enter for any which do not have the ability are not allowed to enter. Often those who have magical ability from the countryside will journey to the Capital to gain riches by working under a noble. This is due to the immense difference in wealth between the nobility and the peasantry, with most peasants unable to earn enough to eat.

This land is an old and dead one, the land is infertile after all it's magic was sapped by the grand acts of necromancy that occurred amongst what used to be rich and fertile fields, now reduced to massive expanses of mud and rot.
