Swyns

Swyns are an ancient Forebearer technology. Used by the Forebearers, these symbols, that they would tattoo to their skin, would help them to hone their powers as well as unlock new secret power they didn't know they had. The people use these ancient symbols found in Forebearer texts in pairing with their Remnant, Inking the rock and tattooing it to their skin in a process known as Swyndling.

Effect

When Rhydans tattoo these symbols to their skins using the Remnant ink, it gives the average person slight Forebearer powers.

Side/Secondary Effects

You must use the correct symbols with Remnant ink or it won't work. If you try to use the Swyn and it wasn't done properly, then it can have a range of side affects from it just not working to death, depending on how much you exerted yourself in using it and what the Swyn was.

Manifestation

Swyns are mostly tattooed on the skin by using an inked form of any given Remnant and a correct Swyn from one of the many ancient texts that hold them.

Source

Ink
Inked Remnant   Though there have been many other ways to mark Swyns onto the skin, such as with a powder or paste, the best way is through the inking process. Using the inked Remnant for the making of Swyns give the largest power output and efficiency.

Discovery

The first discoverers of any ancient Swyn texts are said to be the inhabitants of Hana in the now Rhosaya district. With the city holding many ancient records and writings of the Rose Forebearers, and this included the Swyns. Though these were the first findings of the texts, due to the mystery of Remnant and the fact it hadn't been discovered in mass yet led to the dormancy of these texts and techniques. Once Remnant began to be discovered in mass though, as with other Forebearer artifacts and items, these texts were given a closer look, bringing Swyns to the forefront of Rhydan culture.

Material Components
You must use a form of Remnant for the Swyn to work. Only the matching form of Remnant with its respectable Swyn can work to its affect. For example, using a PrimRose Remnant with a PrimRose Swyn will give maximum effect. Using a Morning Glory Remnant with said PrimRose Swyn could work, but the risk of harm to user is possible.
Gestures & Ritual
Merely thought and knowledge of the Swyns ability is all that is required for basic Swyns. More advanced Swyns require various levels of training.
Related Discipline
When the various children of the Sisters (Forebearers) once roamed Rhydar they used the Swyns as a way to hone their own abilities.
Related Element
Remnant
Effect Duration
The Swyns all have varying times based on which, how long, and how much force is put into using it. The Remnant from the tattoo will fade away, just leaving a bare mark from the tattoo left.
Effect Casting Time
Can vary from merely simple though for basic Swyns, to rituals/specific movements of the body for the most advanced Swyns.
Range
Depending on the Swyn, can be a mile or face to face
Level
The average Rhydan can use the simple Swyns, but the more advanced ones, like those used by the Atlan Defenders, require training.
Applied Restriction
Depending on the Swyn, there can be a multitude of reasons why one can't cast the spell even though the Swyndling process was done correctly. Incorrect knowledge of what the Swyn does, being too weak minded, or just being too sick as well can cause it to not be used.   The only Swyn that the average Rhydan can't use are Lily Forebearer Swyns. These Swyns, some of the most advanced Swyns, can only be used by ethnic Atlans. This is due to their Lily Forebearer blood.
